My father, Quinto Albonetti, born in Senigallia in 1910, never forgot his roots. He used to sing a favorite family lullaby to me in Italian. Later, he sang the same song to his grandchildren, including to my daughter, Catalina Evelyn. In this 1953 photo: Quinto with Joseph, age 2.
Roll over photo to hear the lullaby.
My mother, Jewell Evelyn Neely, was born in 1920 in Alpine, Kentucky. Her family dates to before the American Revolution, and pioneer Neelys explored the Cumberland Gap, founded what is now Nashville, and later settled in Pulaski County in the 1790s.
